Usage
Use (Hekserij)
Oud Samrat (Fir) has a characteristic oud scent: wood, amber and animalic. In
addition, a kind of stimulating freshness like in Cashmeran. The scent is quite
strong and it is an expensive substance. Making a dilution of, for example, 10%
can therefore be useful, this can be done in TEC or DPG, for example. Typical
use is as (part of an) oud accord. You usually use between 0,1% and 1% of this
substance in the fragrance composition. More is certainly possible, but is
unusual because of the price and the intense scent. It combines well with wood,
musk, red fruit and strong floral scents. It adds warmth and animality to the
scent. In perfumes it is mainly a base note, it is stable in many products,
including soap.

Oud Samrat (Fir) is a yellow to orange-brown liquid at room temperature. It has
a fairly long shelf life. The mixture contains both synthetic and vegetable raw
materials, no animal ones. The manufacturer is DSM-Firmenich.
