Poivrol (Sym) has a spicy scent reminiscent of pepper and bay leaf. The scent is
not particularly strong; undiluted use is common. Typical use is as a spice
accent. You usually use between 0,1% and 5% of this substance in fragrance
compositions, but a little more is no problem. It is very versatile and combines
just as easily with citrus and florals as with wood and musk. It adds a
beautiful, peppery spice accent that later transitions into a more woody scent.
In perfumes, it is primarily a top to middle note; it is stable in most
products, including soap.
