Usage
Use (Hekserij)
Seaweed (Fucus) absolute has a mossy and spicy scent reminiscent of seaweed on
the beach. The smell is not particularly strong, but it is a viscous substance.
Making a dilution of, for example, 25% can therefore be useful. You mainly use
it in marine, leather and moss accords. You usually use between 0,1% and 5% of
this substance in the fragrance composition, but more is not a problem. It goes
well with other mossy and spicy scents, but also with wood and some floral
scents, such as daffodil and lavender. It is mainly a base note in perfumes.
Unfortunately, not much is known about its stability, as it is a rarely and
small-scale used fragrance.
Physical properties

Seaweed (Fucus) absolute is an almost black, very viscous liquid at room
temperature. The substance has a fairly long shelf life, provided it is stored
in a cool, dry and dark place (NOT in the refrigerator).
