Usage
Use (Hekserij)
Timbersilk (IFF) has a warm woody scent, but it is the 'velvet effect' that
gives the fragrance that makes it so popular. The scent is medium strong, but
not quickly overpowering. It can therefore be used undiluted. Timbersilk (IFF)
can be used in almost any composition. Think of it as a variant of Iso E Super
(IFF), which you mainly use for compositions with a clear wood aspect. You
usually use between 2% and 15% of this substance in the fragrance composition.
It is primarily a base note in perfumes and is stable in most products,
including soaps, candles and acidic products. Only in bleach is the substance
not recommended.
Physical properties

Timbersilk (IFF) is a pale yellow to yellow liquid at room temperature. The
purity is at least 89% (total of a number of isomers). The substance has a
fairly long shelf life. The substance does not occur in nature, it is made
synthetically. Raw materials for it are largely vegetable. The manufacturer is
IFF.
