Usage

Use (Hekserij)

Tolures type nat (Fir) has a sweet spice-like (balsamic) odor, in pure form it also has some toluene and similar solvents. The smell is not very strong, so it can be used undiluted. Typical use is in amber chords. You usually use between 0.1% and 4% of this substance in the fragrance composition. It combines well similar scents such as woods, musks and ambers. It adds warmth and depth. It is mainly a base note in perfumes. Stability is not fully known, but use in soaps and other products with a higher pH seems unwise.

Physical properties

Tolures type wet (Fir) is a solid at room temperature. It consists of reddish brown resinous lumps and some yellowish powder. The substance has a fairly long shelf life. The substances from which it is made occur in nature, it is a mixture of various natural substances, more or less processed.
