Lavandin Grosso (Lavandula hybrida) is a hybrid between traditional narrow-leaved lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) and wide-leaved lavender (Lavandula latifolia). Its scent is more herbal and green, with pronounced camphoraceous nuances. The harvest of this variety is more abundant, which makes its price slightly lower than that of traditional lavender. The plants reach significant sizes, hence the name 'grosso'.

Its scent is intensely herbal with a characteristic sweet (coumarin) finish. The absolute from IFF has a stronger, more green opening and a darker color of the liquid compared to the absolute from Firmenich (Lavender Pays Abs.). In later stages, their scents are very similar.
